2016 Allergy-Friendly Shopping List

Hi. I'm Heather Bauer -- Bestowed co-founder and registered dietitian. For the estimated 15 million Americans living with food allergies, it can be a struggle to be careful about what you consume while still trying to maintain a healthy diet.

The FDA identifies these foods as the 8 most common food allergens:

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Fish (e.g., bass, flounder, cod)
  • Crustacean shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shrimp)
  • Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • Peanuts
  • Wheat
  • Soybeans

It can be hard to find tasty and nutritious products safe for every allergen sensitivity, so we've put together Bestowed's 2016 Allergy-Friendly Shopping List. We've only included products that meet our strict quality standards with the added benefit of being free of at least one of the 8 most common allergens. I've personally reviewed and tested each of these products and give them my stamp of approval. Enjoy!
